Kasselshoop Cheese

Kasselshoop’s traditional handcrafted cheese – produced with love and passion on the Kasselman family farm, Klein Soebattersvlakte. The farm is just off the R305 on route to Still Bay, probably the most popular holiday destination in the Southern Cape. Here, in the heart of “fynbos” country, four generations of Kasselmans have been breeding Jersey cows for the rich and creamy milk they produce.

Initially, they only made a small batch of cheese every second day. Today they have retail outlets in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Southern Cape as well as Johannesburg. Kasselshoop produces white and yellow cheddar and also gouda. Currently they also produce flavoured cheeses such as smoked gouda, olive, nettle, cheddar pickled onion, chilli, pepper, etc.

At their tasting room you can enjoy cheese and wine pairing, light snacks and cheese platters. Also wine and craft beer and cheese and beer pairing.

Furthermore they offer a lunch tour with a traditional cheese making presentation couples with a cheese and wine pairing.

Kasselshoop, tradisionele handgemaakte kaasfabriek net af van die R305 na Stilbaai, het nederig begin. Dit is vandag ‘n suksesvolle kaasfabriek wat hulle wit en geel cheddar en gouda lewer op verskeie plekke in die Wes-Kaap, Oos-Kaap, Suid-Kaap en Johannesburg. So maak hulle ook huidiglik gegeurde en gerookte kase soos gerookte gouda, olyf, peper, en brandnetel, ens.
Besoek hulle gerus vir ‘n demonstrasie van die kaasmaakproses en ook ‘n kaas en wynproe.
